What Is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is the first FDA-approved poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA) facial injectable that targets fine lines and wrinkles, volume loss, sagging jowls, and other signs of aging due to collagen loss. By age 20, our bodies begin to slow collagen production—the skin and tissues can start to lose their elasticity and bounce, resulting in common signs of aging. Sculptra® differentiates from other dermal injections because it works by promoting new collagen production, healing your skin from the inside out.

What Is Sculptra® Recovery Like?
You’ll be able to return to regular activities immediately after your treatment. Some redness and tenderness are normal at the injection site and should dissipate shortly. You may also experience some bruising and swelling, which can be alleviated with cold compresses. Be sure to avoid putting pressure on your face and around the treatment areas for the first 48 hours.
When Will I See My Sculptra® Results?
Sculptra® is a unique treatment in that results take longer to appear as they are tied to the natural production of collagen. Collagen takes time to build up in the body, so it is usually around one month after treatment that patients start to see initial results.
As your skin heals internally, you’ll gradually see improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, hollowed cheeks, and sagging jowls. This process of continual improvement can be measured up to the sixth month.
Once your final results are visible, you can enjoy the benefits for about two years, although most patients opt for a Sculptra® touch-up about once a year.
