BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, Jeuveau™, and XEOMIN®

Men and women who are bothered by facial aging, such as crow’s feet, forehead lines, deep nasolabial folds, and other facial wrinkles often seek treatment to correct these issues. Dynamic wrinkles are the fine lines, wrinkles, and folds created by facial movements rather than by age and environmental factors. BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, Jeuveau™, and XEOMIN® are neuromodulators that, when strategically injected into the facial muscles, can help smooth dynamic wrinkles to create a more youthful appearance.

What Do You Desire?

Fewer Wrinkles

BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, Jeuveau™, and XEOMIN® are all injectable neuromuscular-blocking toxins used to address wrinkles in the face and neck. By relaxing the muscles, lines and wrinkles are smoothed and softened.

Smoother Lines and Wrinkles

These injectables can all correct fine lines, furrows in the eyebrows, and deep creases on the face and neck by smoothing out the folds to reveal a more even surface. The signs of aging are diminished and the face is rejuvenated.

Youthful Skin

Once the concerns of aging have been reduced or eliminated, the facial appearance is subtly improved and looks more youthful. Many patients feel a boost in their confidence when they look and feel younger.

Your Injectable Consultation

During your consultation with Dr. Thompson, he will evaluate your skin condition and type, and discuss your desired results. He can then determine which treatments are best suited to your needs.

What Is the Process?

Ice or Topical Anesthetic

Dr. Thompson begins by applying ice or a topical anesthetic to the injection sites to constrict the vessels in the skin, prevent discomfort during the treatment, and help reduce potential bruising. You may be asked to contract your facial muscles so he can see exactly where to inject.

Every treatment site receives a strategic dose to fully relax the muscle, making it difficult for wrinkles to form in the treated area.

Completing the Process

Depending on the number of treatment areas, the entire process can take between 10 and 30 minutes to perform. Surgical gauze may be gently pressed against the treatment site following the injection. Patients can leave as soon as their treatment has concluded.

Following your procedure, it can take between two and seven days to see improvements in your facial appearance. Subsequent treatments may be scheduled every three to four months. Some patients are asked to return for a follow-up appointment after two weeks, depending on their outcome.

There is no downtime after treatment, and you may have gauze applied to the area to protect the injection site. You should avoid bending over or lying down for a few hours after your procedure. Please avoid direct sunlight for 24 hours and prevent pressure or rubbing on the injection sites. You are welcome to resume physical activities a couple of hours following your procedure, though many patients wait until the following day to exercise.

The needles used to administer BOTOX® Cosmetic, Jeuveau™, Dysport®, and XEOMIN® are very thin, so scarring is not typically associated with injectables.

You desired results and the number of treatments required to achieve your goals can fluctuate. Dr. Thompson can provide pricing information during your consultation for a more accurate cost estimate.

Some patients experience a mild stinging or burning sensation when the formula is injected into the muscles. You may also feel itchy or see slight redness around the injection sites, which should resolve within two or three days.
